For a third year, Transmit Start-Ups is partnering with Retail Week Live at The Launchpad stage, where 20 startups are invited to pitch their businesses to the likes of Superdry, Graze, Shop Direct and Tesco. So you can find us at the event along with 150 world-class speakers and 60 of the top 100 retailers in the UK.
For over 26 years, Retail Week Live has been joining together British retailers to discuss everything both past, present and future in the retail space.

- Jennifer Atkinson, CEO, Inspiring Travel Company (ITC)
Jennifer joined ITC in 2004 as head of marketing and was appointed Chief Operating Officer in 2009 by founder Drew Foster, who sadly passed away later that year. At that time, ITC was making a small loss and Jennifer was tasked with turning the company around.
Jennifer re-launched ITC with a new management team and business structure and by April 2010 was the Chief Executive Officer and the company was making a small profit again. Today, ITC is doing better than ever and all of the above was achieved while Jennifer was in her 30s, along with having two children.
- Alex Baldock, Group Chief Executive, Dixons Carphone
Dixons Carphone is one of Europe's leading specialist electrical and telecommunications retailers and services companies, employing over 41,000 people in nine countries. Alex Baldock joined the Board as Group Chief Executive of Dixons Carphone in April 2018 and was previously Chief Executive of Shop Direct from 2012 to early 2018, during which period the business enjoyed four consecutive years of growth with record profits, customer satisfaction and people engagement.
- Alice Beer, Journalist and Broadcaster
Alice Beer has a reputation as a fearless and thorough consumer journalist. She first made her name on the BBC consumer show Watchdog, co-presenting alongside Anne Robinson, where she took undercover reporting jobs and exposed some of the biggest industries in the country for the way they were treating consumers.
Alice went on to front many major BBC Series mostly with a strong consumer angle. Her best-known shows include Healthcheck, Face Value, Holiday and a financial quiz: Show Me The Money. She has also hosted Channel 5’s Hot Property programme and LBC’s Breakfast Radio Show.
Alice is ITV This Morning's resident consumer rights champion and also regularly appears on ITV's Good Morning Britain to discuss consumer matters.
- Jim Buckle, COO, Feel Unique
Jim began his career at KPMG in audit and consultancy, followed by senior finance roles at the BBC and Dell Computers. In 2005/2006, Jim spent five years as CFO of movie subscription service, LOVEFiLM, which was sold to Amazon in 2011. Subsequently, Jim was appointed COO and then Managing Director of LOVEFiLM, under Amazon ownership.
Jim has been COO of Feelunique since May 2014 and has over 25 years’ experience in consumer and online businesses, in a range of financial and general management roles.
- Julian Burnett, VP, Retail Market Strategy, IBM Services
In May 2018 Julian Burnett was appointed as head of IBM’s UK retail division. Formally, Julian has held senior positions within some of the UK’s best-known retailers including House of Fraser, John Lewis and Sainsbury’s.
- Graham Burridge, Managing Director, Europe, Disney
Graham has worked at the Walt Disney Company for over 15 years, holding various roles including Finance Director Toys and Controller, Vice President Finance and IT Disney Stores Europe and VP Commerce, Finance and IT Disney Stores Europe, before being appointed Managing Director in April 2013.
