We have helped hundreds of entrepreneurs across Scotland start up their own businesses by providing business loans, start up finance, support and mentoring.
Since first offering business loans in Scotland in 2013, we have approved over £2,000,000 of start up loans to Scottish entrepreneurs to help them realise their dream of being their own boss.
From Aberdeen to Edinburgh, or retail to recruitment, our start up finance is available across Scotland and England and our loans are open to all industries. So whatever your business idea, we’ve got you covered.
As of 2016, Scotland is the second-largest economy in the United Kingdom, the twelfth-largest economy in the 28-member European Union and the 43rd largest in the world. With no sign of this trend slowing, there remains plenty of opportunity to capitalise on Scotland’s economic growth.
Transmit Start-Ups is a leading Delivery Partner for the Government’s Start Up Loans scheme with expertise and offices in Scotland and England. The Government has committed £450m to the scheme and plans to deliver 75,000 loans by 2020, which means there has never been a better time to start your own business.
Our start-up loans range from £500 to £25,000 and are eligible not only to those looking to start their own business for the first time, but also to existing small businesses looking to expand.
Kirsty Gurr from Dunbar, Scotland, was our 1,000th start up loan recipient. Watch her story to see how Kirsty made her business dream become a reality.
Our mentors make themselves available to our start up loan recipients for a few hours every month, to help a lending hand and offer a listening ear on what will undoubtedly be a very demanding time. We work with a carefully selected group of mentors, chosen for their expertise and own experiences in the business field and well-placed to offer some support and guidance to budding entrepreneurs.
As a group of successful individuals, they provide our entrepreneurs with access to a wealth of expertise and knowledge delivered in a way that is timely and tailored specifically to each start-ups business scenario.
“I get a real buzz from seeing people apply the skills, knowledge and techniques that they have learned. Mentoring is an opportunity to help others in the same way as I have been assisted by mentor figures in the past. I enjoy helping others and it is satisfying to see people grow and gain confidence in embracing new challenges.”
“I have been very fortunate throughout my own career in working with some truly great mentors and senior tech industry leaders, having experienced the true benefits of mentoring I felt that now is the right time for me to pass on some of my experience and support other entrepreneurs on their own growth journeys.”
